Dear Emily,
Maybe you remember us, we boarded Spike at Blue Jacket Farm for awhile while you were riding horses there. You helped me a lot with Spike that one day. Great job with WakeUp, you guys looked awesome!!!!!
We were wondering how you transported WakeUp to Europe, because we are going to move to Switzerland soon, and we were looking for ways to take our horses with us. Did you travel with him in the plane? Did he go through quarantaine? We would really love it if you found a minute to answer, as the welfare of our horses is very important to us, as it is to you.
Thank you
Lara and Susanne Schadde
Hello Ladies! Thanks for the comment! I would be happy to share… WakeUp traveled by plane via the broker Mersant and the airline KLM. I was allowed to go along as groom. The plane was both a passenger and cargo plane so I also had a seat in the regular section of the plane, but could go back and spend as much time as I wanted with him. The trip was actually easier than I imagined and all the horses that went with (4 going, 13 coming back) handled it well. I don’t know about the quarantine as that is rather country/horse gender specific. Best of luck! EMILY
Dear Emily,
I’m an old friend of your Mom’s! I finally got around to reading my January Issue of Dressage Today and was pleasantly surprised by the article on you. How wonderful to see how well you and your Mom are doing.
I’d love to hear from you and/or Jana! Please give her my best!
PS: I still have Ace Ventura…he’ll be 17 years old in April!
